D4U Meetings

The promotions committee will be meeting 6/21 at the Salt Lake Roating Company at 7 pm. The Political Action Committee will be there at the beginning to take a survey of what candidates members would like to endorse, particularly for the upcoming primary.

We need you to attend. Anyone can be a member of the committee at this point, and we need your ideas, input, energy and commitment. We need more op-eds and letters to the editor initiated, we need to plan more events that we can promote through press releases and calendar listings, we need visiting speakers to attract the public so they can enter the conversation and spread the word.

The meeting to approve the D4U bylaws will take place on April 22, 2006, during the Salt Lake County Convention at Highland High School. We've been given permission to use the school library while the issue caucuses are meeting (8 to 9 am). A final version of the bylaws will be available on the D4U website before the meeting.

Note that you must be a dues-paying member in order to vote on the bylaws (and other official D4U business throughout the year). You don't have to pay dues to participate in D4U, only to be a voting member. Dues are $18 per person for the remainder of 2006. Please mail your check to:

In addition, our elections for D4U officers and committee chairs will take place at the May meetup on Wednesday, May 3. If you want to vote at either meeting, please make sure your dues are paid up.

It's time for another promotions committee meeting! David Pace will be hosting this one at his home on Wednesday, November 30 at 7 p.m. Among the things we need to discuss:

- Flier update (where they've been posted and passing out more)
- Upcoming events
- D4U bylaws/constitution and what it will mean for the promotions committee
