Bush Rally and Planning Meeting

Submitted by lucidity on Sat, 08/20/2005 - 6:07pm.

I'm reprinting this message from the UDPC:

President Bush will be arriving MONDAY, AUGUST 22 to speak at the VFW Convention taking place in Salt Lake City. A pro-peace rally has been scheduled during the president's visit and will take place at Pioneer Park, 300 South 300 West in Salt Lake from 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM on the 22nd. A number of members of Military Families Speak Out, Gold Star Mothers for Peace, and Veterans for Peace will be present and will address the crowd. Also, local people of faith and others will be speaking out on behalf of peace at the rally.

In preparation for what promises to be a great pro-peace rally, the UDPC is joining those preparing signs and other materials for the rally from noon to 4 PM on Sunday, August 21, at Michael Picardi's store HMT located on 2686 South 300 West in Salt Lake. Michael is generously providing cutting tables, staple guns, etc. to help us out (thank you Michael!). Some sign materials will be available, but you can help us out by bringing your own sign material, magic markers, and other materials you would like to use to make some signs for the rally.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday afternoon to help make signs and again on Monday morning for the rally at Pioneer Park. If you have any questions, you can contact the UDPC at either (801) 634-7319 or (435) 640-2252. Thank you.
