Democracy for Utah Endorses Ralph Becker for SLC Mayor

Democracy for Utah sent a questionnaire to all declared candidates over a month ago. ( The candidates' responses are posted under Recent Blog Posts.)

At the July Meetup, members of Democracy for Utah considered the responses received at that point, and after discussion, voted to endorse Ralph Becker for Mayor of Salt Lake City. GO Ralph!

Let's write to all our congressmen about this..who can be against benefits to Veterans? Even people who wear yello "support the troops" stickers on their big old gas guzzleing cars.

This was sent to me by my nephew who is a Marine an who has served two deployments in Iraq.

Why Cranky Naysayers Won't Join Up: Linda Hilton to Talk to Progressives about Building Coalitions

Salt Lake City, Utah -- Last October, State Senator Jay Bell told the Coalition of Religious Communities (CORC) that the ban on the food tax was "dead in the water," but he underestimated, among others, CORC director Linda Hilton and her cadre of advocates. As chief architects and agitators of the legislation, CORC proved Bell wrong when the state legislature rescinded part of the tax earlier this year.
