We're baaaaaack...

Submitted by lucidity on Tue, 07/01/2008 - 10:50am.

A weird glitch with our website software took us offline for several days. But Ryan fixed it (yay Ryan!) and we're back on the air.

So, did anything important happen in the last week? ;)

New website feature: trusted users

Submitted by lucidity on Fri, 11/09/2007 - 11:33am.

I've created a new category of user on this site called "trusted user." Trusted users will be able to post comments immediately without waiting for the comment to be approved by a moderator. (I had to turn on the moderator feature in order to stem the tide of spam comments.)

To request trusted user status, send me a message (login first) or just post a comment here.

Thanks to all of you who read D4U!

A note on posting comments on the D4U site

Submitted by lucidity on Fri, 08/03/2007 - 11:03am.

Due to the amount of spam comments we're receiving on this site, we've decided to turn on comment moderation. This means that all comments go into an approval queue and then a site administrator decides whether each comment in the queue will get published. This lets us nuke the spam comments before they appear and keep them off the site entirely. The downside is that there's a brief waiting period before your legitimate comments appear on the site. But we'll do our best to clear out the approval queue at least once a day, hopefully more often.

We genuinely appreciate everyone who reads and posts on this blog. The sitemeter shows that we have over 2,000 visitors per day — and you're one of them!

Res Publica

Submitted by Ambedkar on Sun, 02/11/2007 - 1:19am.

Vouchers are the beginning of the end of quality public education in Utah. You cannot ask why a patient remains sick when they keep getting band aids for medicine.

Its time for full funding for public ed, and any legislator that votes it down- should feel our wrath.

Anyway, I have started a blog that deals with philosophical political issues and want to invite everyone to come and discuss. Tell your friends!

Note: This post will stay at the top for a while. New posts are below this one.

We've changed our registration requirements to make it easier to register on the website. Registration is required in order to post comments, create personal blog entries, and vote in polls. The info we're asking for is:

  • Username (your choice)

  • E-mail address
  • Full name

All info is kept strictly confidential. We don't share your info with anyone, and no other users (except the site administrator; that's me) can see your info.

So if you haven't registered because it was too much of a pain, please give it another try.

Join the Young Democrats of Utah for a night of camaraderie, food and fun at their 2006 Annual Convention. What are your favorite political websites?

I tend to rely on the same websites for political news. What are some of your favorite websites that I don't link to enough?

Website problems seem to be fixed

Submitted by lucidity on Tue, 07/25/2006 - 2:27pm.

We haven't been able to post new stories to the D4U site for a couple days, but the problem seems to be fixed now. Please e-mail me if any other weird things happen. (Related to the website, I mean.)
