Anyone want to do this with me? Bake Sale

Submitted by emoticon on Tue, 06/10/2008 - 5:04pm.

Dear MoveOn member,
Winning the White House is going to take a lot of dough. So on Saturday, June 21st and Sunday, June 22nd, we're organizing "Hungry for Change"—the largest bake sale in history—to fund a massive campaign to send Barack Obama to the Oval Office. Every extra cookie and brownie we sell means more organizers on the ground, more creative ads, and more Obama voters at the polls on Election Day. Can you help?

MoveOn Calling for Obama Party a success!

Submitted by emoticon on Sun, 03/02/2008 - 7:54pm.

I hosted a MoveOn calling party for Senator Obama tonight. The calls were to Texas, where many of the voters did not realize the voting process rules..vote in primary then to a cacus.
Very positive experience; networked with many of the attendees to work on local elections!
Met some great people who "have never done this before!"

This party supports the idea that Senator Obama is truly encouraging a grass roots movement; it is really working.

What you can do to stop Bush from escalating the war

Submitted by lucidity on Thu, 01/11/2007 - 3:07pm.

1. Attend a MoveOn rally tonight (Thursday). Go to MoveOn.org to find a rally near you.

2. Write a letter to the editor. From an e-mail from Gov. Dean:

Unlike the way we got into this war, America must have a real conversation about how to end it. Congress finally asserting its constitutional authority is the only way that conversation will happen.

The most effective thing you can do right now is send a letter to the editor of your local paper about escalation, and let them know that you demand a vote on any troop increase. Writing your letter to the editor is simple using our PartyBuilder advocacy tools. Just click here to get started:

Once you get the list of newspapers, click "Show more newspapers near you" to get the full list.

I suggest the membership go to this site and take the survey. This aligns with the three main foci of our group.
Thanks,

Rice to India-Buy Nuclear and stop Global Warming

Submitted by William White on Fri, 04/07/2006 - 11:17am.

In rationalizing the questionable legal transfer of nuclear technology to India, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was quoted to say, "..(The) deal would improve energy, security and by reducing India's reliance on fuel from Iran, help the environment by cutting its carbon emissions." Here is a spokesperson for the "oil" administration paradoxically calling for reducing green house gases by another sovereign state while conveniently ignoring the world’s largest producer of carbon dioxide-our own country.
