CNN POLL: Who spent more time attacking during the debate?

McCain – 80%
Obama – 7%

The early "snap" polls are showing a decisive Obama win. And the results of this focus group in Colorado are just stunning (The Plank):

The most striking result came on the favorability ratings. Although the focus group was officially undecided, it leaned towards McCain. Here were the favorability-unfavorability ratings for each candidate at the start:

McCain: 54 favorable / 34 unfavorable

Obama: 42 favorable / 42 unfavorable

Here's what the ratings looked like after the debate:

McCain: 50 favorable / 48 unfavorable

Obama: 72 favorable / 22 unfavorable

McCain seems utterly unable to pull out of his nastiness death-spiral, even though it's causing him far more harm than Obama.

We're so close to wrapping this up, that I'm scared everyone will stop working! There are still almost 3 weeks. Palin's church members could pray for another attack, which may put McCain back in the picture.

Speaking of McCain, while I thought Barack handled the VP qualifications answer nicely, I wish we would have just as nicely mentioned that she has been found guilty of abuse of power. That surely must disqualify her as VP?

I really wanted him to push back on a couple of other things as well...I guess it was OK that he didn't...his cool, calm temperament proved he could handle a crisis at 3:00 in the morning!

Keep on hoping!
