Denver by Starlight..and Fireworks

Speaking of Denver...John Lee asked me last night "Did you cry?"

Yup, I did. And I think there were lots of other peoople in the stadium cried, as well. There were 80,000 of us. Someone had to cry!

Here are the two main feelings that I brought back from the DNC Convention-
The bridges between the racial divide were made stronger.
I looked around the audience full of people cheering, crying, hugging and saying "Amen!"

I do see color unlike Stevn Colbert's famous parody of not seeing color when interviewing an African American.
That night, we were not afraid to speak to each other.
We're all here, man, and that guy speaking brought us together...I didn't feel as White.

The other observation? Denver during the DNC Convention was a lot like the 2002 Olympics here in Salt Lake City.
Laughing loudly, saying "hey" to people from all over the world, dancing in the streets, cheering when we heard Joe Biden on outside monitors.
Fun on the sidewalks, in the parties, in the stadium.

I saw Peter Carroon and his wife, Amy, once a day. Not on purpose, just late at night when he was leaving the convention floor; he was walking around with candidate buttons all over his credentials. BYU for Obama, U of U for Obama.

I wish you all could have been there. You would haved loved Stevie Wonder.

...and Oh!Bama; we would have followed him anywhere. I just hope the citizens follow him to the ballot box.
