Salt Lake Tribune:

Improving education is Lynn Hemingway's top priority as a state legislator, and he's personally picking up part of the tab.

The freshman representative is donating his legislative salary to schools.

Thursday, Hemingway, R-Holladay, delivered four checks for $1,000, his entire salary for the legislative session, to the PTA at different schools in his district.

"I know there's a huge need in education," Hemingway said. "The PTAs are always scrapping around to get money."

I posted this story because I was impressed that a Republican legislator would donate his salary to support public education. Then I did a little research and discovered that Hemingway is a Democrat.

Shoddy work, Trib.
